Cake smashes are all about capturing your baby's first taste of birthday cake! Some babies love their cake, gobble it up and smash it to pieces; some are weirded out by the gooey texture of the frosting; some are more interested in the decorations or crawling around the studio; and some are completely terrified of their cake and want nothing to do with it! I love capturing it all and seeing their personalities shine through! I can't wait to get started photographing Harrison's first cake smash but he doesn't do great with dairy still so I figured it would be fun to do a 10 month "Spaghetti Smash" now and then wait a little longer for all of the dairy and sugar that comes with a cake smash. He absolutely LOVES spaghetti and meatballs. He's a huge meat-eater...none of my other three were ever interested in meat at this age (heck, my three year old still won't touch any meat besides Chick-Fil-A nuggets lol!). I spent forever planning, purchasing all of the ingredients, making meatballs from scratch, and setting up this adorable little Italian kitchen scene only for him to take one small taste of the spaghetti and decide he was done lol! That's just how it goes sometimes. We kept at it for about 20 minutes before throwing in the towel and giving him a nice warm bath...and then the older kids and I feasted on a delicious spaghetti lunch (the studio smelled heavenly with that all of that fresh basil, crusty bread, and delicious spaghetti)!
